Nursing Team
At our clinic, both the Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Registered Nurse (RN) play crucial roles in delivering comprehensive primary care. The NP conducts periodic health exams, including well-baby visits, and diagnoses illnesses by ordering necessary tests such as blood work, urine tests, and imaging. NPs are authorized to write prescriptions for acute conditions and provide education on managing both chronic and acute diseases, including prenatal and postnatal care. They also review test results, participate in care planning, and monitor patient progress towards optimal health.
Meanwhile, our RN assists in managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and lung disease, and provides education on medication and symptom management, including current vaccination guidelines. Additionally, the RN monitors vital signs, offers smoking cessation counseling, and provides nicotine replacement products under the STOP Program.
The nursing team offers:
A range of primary nursing care services, including administering routine childhood, adult, influenza, and COVID-19 vaccines; allergy shots; TB tests; ear flushing; plantar wart treatment with liquid nitrogen; and wound care.
Well-baby visits and periodic health exams.
NPs are authorized to write prescriptions for acute conditions, while our RN can write specific prescriptions within their scope of practice (RN prescribing Medication List)
Counseling on preventive care screenings, including mammograms, FIT tests, pap smears, bone density tests, and abdominal aortic aneurysm screening.
