Medical Assistant Team
Medical assistants play a vital role in the family health team, performing a range of tasks to support patient care. Among their responsibilities, they prepare patients for their visit by taking vitals such as blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight. They also administer vaccines as directed by the MD and perform well baby/child checks. At the MD's request, medical assistants can act as chaperones during appointments and relay messages to patients and pharmacies via phone, email, or mail. They assist in preparing instruments for sterilization and stock exam rooms with necessary supplies. Additionally, medical assistants help with lab sorting, perform preventative care, and handle any other tasks assigned by the MDs.
